Following the surgical consultation, our patient services coordinator will sit with you to walk through the complete cost structure. This includes the Medisave-claimable amount for your procedure, any MediShield Life benefit that applies, the cost of different lens options if relevant, and the out-of-pocket amount you would pay after all funding sources are applied.

You are under no obligation to book surgery at this stage. Most patients take one to two weeks to consider their options after receiving their estimate.

02 Diagnostic imaging & measurements

eye check.jpg

A trained ophthalmic technician will perform detailed measurements of your eyes using non-invasive imaging equipment. This typically includes biometry, corneal topography, and a slit-lamp examination. These measurements inform the surgeon's assessment and if surgery is indicated help determine the precise lens power required.

This step takes approximately 30–45 minutes and is entirely painless.

Your surgeon will review the imaging results with you in plain language. They will explain what the findings show, whether surgery is clinically indicated, and if so what surgical options are appropriate for your specific eyes and lifestyle. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you have. There is no time pressure.

The surgeon consultation typically takes 20–30 minutes.
