Retinal Conditions and Other Eye Care

The retina is the light sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. Dr Lim provides medical and surgical care for retinal conditions in adults and children, alongside cataract and general eye care.

Retinal Detachment

The retina separates from its normal position at the back of the eye. Sudden flashes, new floaters or a curtain across vision require urgent assessment.

Macular Degeneration

Changes in the macula can affect central vision, making reading or recognising faces more difficult. Assessment establishes the type and extent of the condition.

Macular Holes

A hole in the macula, the central part of the retina, can cause blurred or distorted central vision and difficulty with detailed tasks.

Myopic Maculopathy

High myopia can cause changes in the macula that affect detailed central vision. Examination and imaging help assess these changes.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetes can damage blood vessels in the retina. Eye examinations help identify changes and guide monitoring or treatment.

Retinal Conditions in Children

Dr Lim’s clinical interests include retinopathy of prematurity, retinal detachments and retinal dystrophies in children.

Cataract and General Eye Care

His practice also includes cataract surgery and general ophthalmology. An examination helps identify the cause of vision changes and the appropriate next steps.

Sudden changes in vision?

Sudden flashes, new floaters, a curtain across vision or sudden vision loss need urgent assessment. Do not wait for a routine appointment reply.
